Blog-to-video tools compared: Ojelio, Pictory, Lumen5 and InVideo
Four tools that turn a blog post into a video, side by side. Free plans, prices, video length, formats, where the pictures come from, languages, WordPress and API, checked on each tool's own site.

Pictory, Lumen5, InVideo and Ojelio all start from a blog post and end with a video, but they are built for different videos. Some make long, horizontal videos from stock footage; some make short vertical ones for Shorts, TikTok and Reels. This guide puts the four side by side, so you can pick the one that fits the videos you actually want.
We make Ojelio, so read this knowing that. Every fact about the other three comes from their own websites (pricing pages, feature pages and help centers), read on 12 October 2026. Prices and plans change: check their pricing pages before you decide.
What to look at first
Before features, three questions decide most of it:
- How long, and which shape? A 45-second vertical video for Shorts and a 5-minute horizontal video for YouTube are different jobs. Check the longest video each plan allows and whether it makes 9:16, 1:1 and 16:9.
- Where do the pictures come from? Stock footage looks like stock footage, and the same clips turn up in other people's videos. AI-generated pictures can follow your style, but are not real footage. Your article's own photos are often the best pictures you have.
- Which language is the narration in? If you publish in Portuguese, check that the voices speak it, and how many there are.
Then the practical ones: whether there is a free plan or only a trial, a watermark, a WordPress plugin, and an API if you want to make videos automatically.

Pictory
Pictory turns a link, a script or a recording into a video. From a blog post's address, its AI takes the page's main content and summarizes it into a script, which you can edit, then matches visuals, captions and music to each line.
- Good at: longer videos (up to 30 minutes from a script or link) in all three common shapes; a large stock library from Storyblocks and Getty Images; many voices, including Brazilian Portuguese; brand kits; a developer API.
- Keep in mind: there is no free plan, only a 14-day trial whose videos carry a watermark; the API is a separate subscription.
- Prices: pictory.ai/pricing.
Lumen5
Lumen5 is built around templates and a stock library. Paste a post's link and its AI script composer summarizes it (or uses every sentence) and builds scenes with designs and stock media.
- Good at: a real free plan (5 videos a month, up to 2 minutes, at 720p, with Lumen5's logo at the end); four shapes including 4:5; more than 35 languages, Portuguese included; integrations with asset libraries and single sign-on for larger teams.
- Keep in mind: AI voices, AI images and brand kits are on paid plans; 1080p starts with the Starter plan; videos are at most 10 minutes.
- Prices: lumen5.com/pricing.
InVideo
InVideo has become an AI video editor you talk to: you paste a link or your own script, describe the video you want, and its agent makes it, with stock footage, AI-generated footage, voices and music. Plans are sold in credits per seat.
- Good at: many AI models for video, image and sound in one place; a large stock library; more than 50 languages; word-by-word captions; working from AI assistants through its MCP server.
- Keep in mind: credits do not roll over to the next month; the free plan's credits are limited and reset weekly; it is a general video editor, so getting a short article video means describing it well.
- Prices: invideo.io/pricing.
Ojelio
Ojelio does one thing: it turns an article into a short narrated video, vertical (9:16) or square (1:1), for Shorts, TikTok, Reels and feeds. You paste the article, import it from its link or send it from WordPress; it writes a short script (or reads your text word for word), records the voice, draws a picture for every scene in your style, keeps your article's own pictures where they belong, and adds word-by-word captions and music.
- Good at: short videos without stock footage, each scene drawn in one style that your brand kit keeps; a free WordPress plugin that saves the video to the Media Library; an API with webhooks; a free plan with no card.
- Keep in mind: videos are at most 90 seconds (60 on the free plan), there is no horizontal 16:9 video, and narration is in English and Brazilian Portuguese only.
- Prices: free for 5 videos a month; $19, $49 and $129 a month for the paid plans, on ojelio.com.
Which one to choose
- Long YouTube videos, horizontal, from stock footage: Pictory or Lumen5.
- A free plan to try longer videos: Lumen5.
- Many kinds of video, made by describing them to an AI: InVideo.
- Short vertical or square videos from your articles, from WordPress, or automatically through an API: Ojelio. To see how it works, read How to turn a blog post into a short video and How to make a video from a WordPress post.
Whichever you pick, try it on one real article before paying: the free plan or trial will tell you more than any table.
